Application 2017-2018

All application materials must be received by June 15.

The Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund (HGSF) is a community organization whose sole
purpose is to provide need-based financial assistance to qualified applicants.

You are eligible to apply for a scholarship if you:

  • Are a senior at or a graduate of the Chappaqua Central School District’s Horace Greeley High School
  • Wish to pursue your education beyond the high school level
  • Have been accepted by a qualifying institution
  • Have applied and qualified for need-based financial aid at the college/university
    you plan to attend

You must submit a new application each year along with all supplemental forms, such as tax returns, financial aid forms, etc. Last years code will not work. Students who applied last year need only submit the latest year of tax returns since we already have the previous year’s forms.


To be considered for a Horace Greeley Scholarship the following requirements must be met.

We STRONGLY REQUEST AND RECOMMEND that you complete this portion of the application as soon as possible and not later than May 15, 2017.

Parent and Student Tax Return Requirements:

First-time Applicants:

Signed copies of Federal Tax Returns (first page) for 2014 and 2015 (and Schedules A, C, D, E only)

Signed copies of New York State Tax Returns for 2015 and 2016 (first 2 pages only)

Renewal Applicants:

**No new Federal Tax Returns Required (in accordance with new FAFSA rules)

Signed copies of NYS Tax Returns for 2016

School Financial Aid Award Letter

We must have a copy of the Award Letter you received from the college/university you will be attending for the upcoming academic year. It should include the Total Cost of Attendance and list all the financial aid for which you are eligible.

For divorced parents, please download your noncustodial parent’s statement from the College Board’s website and then login to upload it to our Dropbox account.

Applicants will be emailed, in early August, with grant results.
